Some of the Nice Things We've Heard
About LAUREL AND HARDY CENTRAL

| Howdy,
L&H Central folks
(although I've
encountered some L&H fans who are slightly off-center...):
Just wanted to tell you that your website is a pip, even if it isn't from Pittsburgh... Thank you for helping to keep the memory of Stan and Ollie alive! Randy Skretvedt, Author of LAUREL AND HARDY: THE MAGIC BEHIND THE MOVIES |
I'm sure
I speak for Laurel & Hardy
fans everywhere
in thanking you for "Laurel & Hardy Central." Congratulations on a
job well done.
Scott MacGillivray, Author of LAUREL AND HARDY: FROM THE
FORTIES
FORWARD I looked at it and like it a lot... Joe Adamson, author of GROUCHO, HARPO, CHICO AND SOMETIMES ZEPPO and TEX AVERY: KING OF CARTOONS.

| An unfailingly detailed look at the
unique and
inspirational humour of Laurel and Hardy. Supported with original
photos,
the site documents every silent, sound short and feature film that
Ollie
and Stan appeared in, as well as information about the
behind-the-scenes
production crew. A fascinating insight into film producer Hal Roach is
included, together with a well-stocked bibliography.
BBC Online Webguide - Best of the Web |
Just
wanted to congratulate the two
Johns on a
fantastic job with the new Roach feature-film essays on Laurel &
Hardy
Central. Taken together, there is enough material for a small book (I
know,
I printed them out). The new essays are witty, insightful and fun to
read. Best of all are when they disagree or tilt
aginst the Gospels of Everson and McCabe.

| "Four
Stars"
Encyclopaedia Britannica The site is called Laurel and Hardy Central, and is as close to an online museum for the boys that you can have....This is an excellent fan site, one that you will want to bookmark and come back to often. World Village Family Site of the Day |
Thanks
for your continued work on L&H Central, I still check for those
updates and
the opportunity to read something new from the two of you!
Have no doubt that your work is
appreciated...you two are truly, truly, fun/informative to read. Tori
Mitchell
Your site is the best L & H site (or
any vintage comedy site) I've seen. Thanks for the effort on behalf of
two of the all time greatest film comedians. John F.

| Hard
Boiled Eggs and Nuts is
one of many
sites devoted to the comic talents of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, and
it is much better than the competition. The authors, John Larrabee and
John V. Brennan, are true and passionate fans of 'The Boys' and
describe
this project as a 'labor of love'. That is indeed evident from the
wonderful
graphics to the minute attention to detail.
Hard Boiled Eggs and Nuts provides information about all films ever made by the duo, but it also has a number of thorough essays about the background of their unique form of humor, plus a long list of Laurel & Hardy links. In short, here's another fine mess you've gotten us into! Oh yes, for the non-cognoscenti: the term 'hard boiled eggs and nuts' is of course from the film 'County Hospital'. XSMagazine Definitely the most interesting L&H site, because you do not merely re-hash well-known facts and filmography, but rather offer some very insightful and amusing critique on the films. Ken |
This
is a great site for lovers of
comedy. ComedyZone, Beeb@theBBC. Yours is THE Laurel and Hardy site! Yair Solan, Webmaster of The World of Charley Chase Laurel and Hardy Central ROCKS MY SOCKS! Donna, alt.comedy.laurel-hardy You've put together an outstanding testimonial to Laurel & Hardy. It is not only literate and witty, but goes a long way toward capturing the affectionate essence of these two immensely likeable gentlemen. Frank Thanks for the great site devoted to our good friends Mr Laurel and Mr Hardy. Keith |
| Very nice
site! Nicely designed and a
lot of fun
to browse through! Thanks for your hard work and heart!!
Rick Greene I just got done browsing your new page, The Hal Roach Wing and I really enjoyed it very much. I always wanted to know about all the stars that played roles in the L and H films and the other stars that Hal Roach had such as Our Gang, Charlie Chase, etc. It was most interesting. Keep up the good work. regards Richard It's brilliant! Cookie

Just had
to write and say that this is
THE BEST
site I have ever seen on the boys. Thanks and well done!
Ian Durham I am a great fan of both of the Boys and congratulate you on your efforts in attempting to keep their humor and legacy alive. Alan Farkas Laurel and Hardy Central is a
spectacularly in-depth website,
containing tons of relevant information accessible through a stay-put
frame docked on the left screen side. I was unable to find a website
that matched this one in terms of content-this site is loaded! Keith Hoerling (Slapstick
Encyclopedia - see Links) Thank you, thank you, thank you. I managed to waste most of the morning, in my company's view, but the work you have done is superb. Bill |
| You
called your site a "labor of
love", and it
really shows. You guys have a real appreciation of the boys -- the kind
of appreciation I like: one that can analyze the films without getting
overly serious about it.
Chris As a dedicated Son, I'll add this to my list of Favorites and look forward to further refinements! Tim |
Boys,
boys, boys, A very wonderful job on this site of love and celebration. Your caring and unwavering affection for Stan and Babe are readily evident in this moving tribute. As a member of several tents of the Sons of the Desert and the immediate past Grand Sheik of the founding tent in New York City, I would like to offer my congratulations on a beautiful testimonial to the boys. Stan Taffel |
| Great
page! I was proud to be your
87th visitor.
Rob Thanks to your website, I have access to a wealth of information and insight in "the Boys" films, lives, etc..., which has enabled me to fully appreciate the genius of these two wonderful and outstanding comedians. Thank you. Daniel Congratulations on the development of this amazing, heartfelt, love letter. You've obviously touched the hearts of many L&H fans. Tim Brennan (Fra Borealis) |
It seems
strange to e-mail someone on
the basis
of their cover page, but I am impressed (nice touches with Stan
blinking
and the "new" title over the hats-on-hatrack).
I look forward to coming back to this site often. J.M.I have spent the better of two evenings reading everything on your L&H web site. To say I am impressed is an understatement. You have by far the best L&H site I have seen on the net. Maxim |
