since been torn down and a laundry mat is now on the site.

Stan and Mae Laurel arrived in Hollywood.
1329 GORDON STREET - HOLLYWOOD
Oliver Hardy arrives in Hollywood with the Kay - Bee Production Company
from the east on October 24 and set up their tent in
the same location as The Al Christie Studios.
1918
ROLIN PRODUCTION COMPANY
Stan signed with The Rolin Production Company (which was run by Hal
Roach and his partner) to make five one - reeler comedies. They started
filming the first one in mid - June and
the last one in July. The fifth comedy started filming at The Santa Fe
Station.When the last comedy was finished,
Laurel and Rolin parted company.
THE VITAGRAPH COMPANY
Laurel signed on to play in a series of comedy shorts with up and
coming comedy star, Larry Semon. Stan played second fiddle to Semon in
three shorts, with the first being shot
during the summer. After the three Semon - Laurel comedies were
complete, the two men never worked together again.
1919
Early in the year, Oliver Hardy joined Vitagraph and appeared with in
Larry Semon's comedies.
4633 VERMONT PLACE - HOLLYWOOD
The Hardy's, (Oliver and his first wife) were living here in August.
THE PANTAGES THEATER - LOS ANGELES
Stan and Mae were appearing on stage during a week in November.
The Hardy's marriage ends and Oliver moves out of their home.

MARY (24) AND MYRTLE (22) REEVES
Hardy moves in with the Reeves sisters as their boarder. He is having
an affair with Myrtle, who will become his second wife. (The sisters
are actresses)

CAHUENGA PASS - HOLLYWOOD
Hardy rented a hillside house at the top of Cahuenga Pass with his
friend, actor Ray McKee.

THE CHURCH OF CHRIST - HOLLYWOOD
Oliver Hardy and Myrtle Reeves are married here on Thanksgiving Day.
2425 RUSSELL AVENUE - HOLLYWOOD
The Hardy's move into their first home.

The Hardy's then move into this house.

Stan is living here.

FLORENCE AVENUE - HOLLYWOOD
Actress Lois Neilson's apartment. She become Stan's girlfriend and he
moves in with her.

Stan Laurel and Lois Neilson are married. She is his first wife.
1926 - 1927
3716 SOUTH VAN NESS - HOLLYWOOD
STAN AND LOIS LAUREL
Their first home as a married couple.
1928 (or 1929) - 1930
718 NORTH BEDFORD DRIVE - BEVERLY HILLS

The Laurel's move into this large brick, Colonial - style house.
1928 - 1937
621 NORTH ALTA DRIVE - BEVERLY HILLS
OLIVER AND MYRTLE HARDY
SYCAMORE AVENUE AND CAHUENGA BLVD -
HOLLYWOOD
Oliver Hardy has a confrontation with actor Tyler Brooke in a pool hall
on this corner. The two men have an arguement when,
according to Hardy, Brooke calls him a son of a bitch. Hardy
takes this as an insult to his mother and hits Brooke with a billard
stick, breaking his arm. He sues Hardy for $109,510.
1930 - 1934
303 SOUTH PALM DRIVE - BEVERLY HILLS
In 1930 Stan and Lois split up and he moves out of their Bedford Drive
home and into this four bedroom house. His younger brother Everett (aka
Teddy) and his wife and two sons move in with Stan. Everett "Teddy"
Jefferson had followed Stan to America in 1920. In 1933 he was working
as the chauffeur for the manager of The Ambassador Hotel in Los
Angeles. On December 17 1933 Teddy went to a dentist to have some teeth
extracted. While sitting in the dentist chair recieving laughing gas,
he had a heart attack and died. He was 33 years old. After the funeral,
Stan gave his sister in law enough money to move elsewhere. Ruth
Rogers, who would become his second wife, moved in with him.

Myrtle's sister was living here.
3687 FREEDONIA AVENUE - BEVERLY HILLS
OLIVER HARDY moved here after moving out of the
Alta Drive house.
1934 - 1938
10353 GLENBAR AVENUE - CHEVIOT HILLS
Stan and Ruth moved into this small, four bedroom, Mediterranean -
style villa. When the couple divorced, he moved out and she kept the
house and all the furnishings.
1935
4276 SOUTH HOOVER STREET - LOS ANGELES
MAE LAUREL had returned from Australia and was living here.
1936 - 1938
FRANKLIN AVENUE - HOLLYWOOD
THE LA BELLE APARTMENTS
Stan took an apartment here after moving out of his Glenbar Avenue home.
HANCOCK PLACE - HOLLYWOOD (Wilshire District)
Ruth later moved into a smaller home on this street and furnished it
with the Glenbar Avenue furniture. What was left went into storage.
1938 - 1946

Stan and Ida move into a two - story house in Sherman Oaks.
1940
On March 7 Oliver Hardy married Lucille Jones.
RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA
THE MISSION INN
The day after their wedding The Hardy's stayed here in the Bridal Suite.
1940 - 1955
14227 MAGNOLIA BLVD - VAN NUYS
In March 1940 the Hardy's bought this three acre estate for $20,000.
There was a swimming pool, guest houses and stables. He built a
theater, which he dubbed "The Laurel And Hardy Fun Factory".
1955 - 1956
5429 WOODMAN AVENUE - VAN NUYS
Hardy had been ill for several years and the Magnolia Blvd house became
to much for them to take care of, so Oliver and Lucille moved into this
smaller home.
1956 - 1957
5421 AUCKLAND AVENUE - NORTH HOLLYWOOD
Around October 1956 Hardy was very ill, after having suffered a series
of strokes. He was unable to move or speak and Lucille was unable to
care for him by herself. They moved into her mothers house where she
would have help caring for
him. Oliver Hardy died here on August 7, 1957. He was cremated and his
ashes are buried close by at Valhalla Memorial Park.
After Hardy's death, Lucille sold their property and moved to Palm
Springs. She later remarried and died in 1987.
