STORY: Stan and Ollie are hired by a mad scientist to steal a corpse from a cemetary. The scientist's butler, really a detective in disguise, follows the boys and thwarts their efforts -- as does their own terror. |
| JB: The Boys' earliest "fright" film. It's not a bad film at all, but I am not a big fan of the genre. I find Lou Costello's "fright turns" in HOLD THAT GHOST or ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN much funnier than Stan Laurel's in this and similar films. Anyway, Habeas Corpus is better than The Laurel-Hardy Murder Case and not as good as The Live Ghost. |
