b. May 9, 1892; d. February 19, 1952
Appeared with Laurel and Hardy in 39 films.
Other notable films: Several comedy features and shorts of the 1930's, including appearances with W.C. Fields, Charley Chase, Harold Lloyd, Our Gang and The Three Stooges.
As Lufkin's roles in Laurel and Hardy films were usually no more than bits or walk-ons, he is not immediately recognizable to fans as Finlayson or Hall. But he deserves mention for his 39 appearances with the Boys, second only to Charlie Hall's 47. He found steady work supporting most of the top comics of the day and freelanced among the major studios. Probably best remembered among L&H fans for the immortal line "C'mon, Lug, get out of that chair!" from BLOCKHEADS.
